Rethinking Risk: A Personal Perspective

Brandon has wide-ranging entrepreneurial experience as an investor, operating executive, board member, and corporate lawyer. Brandon began his career as a law clerk to Chief Judge J.L. Edmondson of the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He then spent 12 years working with technology companies, first advising startups and investors as a corporate lawyer at Hogan Lovells, then building global energy tech company Tachyus as COO and CEO, and finally investing in startups as a General Partner at Prime Movers Lab.

Brandon invests in his community through his series Celebrating Black Founders and Investors, entrepreneurship initiative Oakland Idea Shop, and mentoring platform LOVE (Let Our Vision Evolve). He grew up in the Bay Area and earned degrees with honors from Stanford Law School and UC Berkeley. Brandon was honored to be named to Houston Business Journal’s 2022 Top 40 Under 40 List.
